(More customer reviews)This might work to keep honest people out of a utility cabinet.A real thief could pop it in 30 seconds, if that.It is clearly marked as 1 1/2 inches wide.The body is 1 7/8 inches tall.It is 1/4 inch thick (not counting the raised part).It has a seam on the side you can't see in the picture; it may be pried apart.
The picture on Amazon is deceptive; it makes it appear massive.I reviewed this and several other locks that were "heavy duty;" the picture of this lock made it appear comparable to far beefier locks. Again, keep in mind the other dimensions. I live in a high property crime area and wanted 5 locks for doors and sheds in my fenced backyard that were combination and could be set to the same code.My experiences with Master Locks have been that they jam, freeze in winter and require frequent oiling and maintenance.So I bypassed those options.This may be a fine lock for what it is, but don't confuse it with a "bad boy" regardless of the pictures.Oh, and by the way-- it comes with a 5 digit code that cannot be changed.Who wants somebody else's code?I went with a combo lock so I wouldn't have to carry keys and I want my own code so I can pick something easy to remember.
