(More customer reviews)ITS ACTUAL DIMENSIONS ARE 3.55" x 5.52".This is the thickest (18mm) u-lock that OnGuard makes.Amazon incorrectly lists the dimensions as those of the Brute STD u-lock (#Its overall dimensions are substantially smaller than the STD [standard] version or the Brute LS model which is the longest at 4.37" x 10.24").The thickness of both the STD and LS locks are 16.8mm.I'd hate to have someone order this and be mislead by the incorrect information on the product description/name.Let's hope that Amazon fixes the listing before this happens.

Princeton Tec Apex 3 watt LED Headlamp Review

There is a new model revision, which DOUBLES the light output from 60 lumens (which is good out to +/- 70yards) to 130 Lumens (good out to +/- 120yrds). This goes for all apex models (the AA model, the CR123 model here and the external battery pack model)

As of December '08, there are a lot of resellers trying to dump the older model, which are selling in the $60-$70 price range. The newer model is selling for around $90. If a reseller's advertisement doesn't list it as the "New 130 Lumen" model, then it probably isn't. The only way to determine which version you are holding in your hand is to look for the "130 Lumen" sticker on the retail box, and the model number, which is now "APXR" (it was APX on the older model).

IMO, Spend the extra $20 to get the higher Lumen model. It will allow you to leave you high-output flashlight at home and just use this light for all your daily outdoor adventure needs. With the older model, I always carried a second flashlight of at least 120 Lumens (preferably around 200) for long range spotlight needs. This new model takes care of almost all my spot needs now, so it really does double duty and is well worth the extra $20 or so.

As for which model to get (AA or CR123), it comes down to if you have any other CR123 flashlights (I have 5 of them), or if you are weight sensitive (this one is light, the AA model is kind of heavy!). If I didn't have any other CR123 devices, I'd probably live with the weight of the AA model, since you can buy bulk AA's at Costco or Sam's Club for very cheap.

(More customer reviews)Your casual thief isn't going to get through this lock.He'll need a massive pair of bolt cutters to slice through the thick cable.The locking device is heavy metal, not plastic, so no concern there.You'll get two heavy keys, with a serial number card, so there must be many thousands of key possibilities.I know nothing about lock picking, but based on the strength of everything else I assume the lock isn't easily pickable.

My only complaint, which goes along with the thick cable I suppose, is that you can only "squish" the lock down so far.I can't carry it on my bike frame because there's no where to put it without it laying on cables or getting in the way of my pedaling.I thought I could wrap it around my seat post, but no go.

I just purchased a larger under-the-saddle bag (which I needed aside from this lock).I'm hoping to squeeze this lock in, but I'm not hopeful.I'm sure this lock will come in handy somewhere, someday, just not today for my bike.

The lights were even better then i expected they help me be visible from all angles. The only thing i wasn't so happy about was that one of the pieces to turn the light on got jammed about after a week. Besides for that the lights are great!

(More customer reviews)About after a month of use, the lock got stiff. And after two months of use, the lock could no longer be unlocked. The lock was broken, and I couldn't turn the key at all.
This may be the cheapest among U-shape locks, but don't buy this. You'd have to buy another one, better one next time, as this cheap lock is easy to break and makes you cost twice in the end.

2009 Kryptonite New York 2' 3" Noose Chain & Disc Lock Review

Really glad I locked up both wheels.Anyway, the lock still functions just fine despite being brutalized. I think I'll send Kryptonite some cookies.

(More customer reviews)I think I got this item on sale for like $25+/-. This thing is a serious lock. It's a tad short, but it works for what I use it for. The lock comes with 5 keys, which is convenient (almost overkill). The lock - like any lock - sticks a little when repeatedly exposed to rain, but nothing a little WD-40 won't fix. Most OnGuard locks cost $50+ (I think...I haven't researched this stuff in a few months), but if you can get one for the price I paid, you won't look back. It's better than locking your bike up with a $6 lock just to get it stolen the week after, but it's not too over-the-top like a $75 lock for a $150 bike. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Bell Sports 1002297 Chain Repair Tool Review

(More customer reviews)Bought one of these out of desperation and wish I saved the money.It does not line up properly on the chain.When it is tightened, the tool misses the pin and ends up hitting half of the link and half of the pin.The pin never comes out and the link is ruined.The reason this happens is because when you start to screw the tool, the pin moves about 1mm in each direction as it gets screwed into the chain.

Spend a little extra and get one that actually works.
